Ski Joring, naked skiing, bro boots and more

4/25/24 - This week’s stoke:

Your favorite skier’s favorite line. The more we watch Josh Daieks's one track mind series the more love it. In classic Daiek fashion, he skis fast precise and keeps the adrenaline high.

What we’re watching:

  • The Road to Alaska 8 - Another off-the-beaten-path series. What we love about this series is its reliability, no flashy branding, no helicopter paid for by sponsors, just two homies in a cheap truck road-tripping to Alaska and sleeping in tents. You don't need ton's of money to follow the ski dream just lots of stoke.

  • SKIJORING: Buckles, Cowboys, and Money - What do you do when avalanche conditions are super dangerous in your local zone? Go ski the flats obvloiuly. To keep in intresting during a historic avalanche cycle in the Teton Jim Ryan and Madison Rose Ostergren explore the wild sport of ski joring

The Beta:

  • Grands Montets Resort Releases Plan For New Ropeways - Chamonix's "other" resort had a pretty rough go with it a few years ago when the main tram burned down, leaving easy access to the Argentiere Glacier basin in the dust. Thankfully, there's a new plan in place to replace the old tramway with a modern solution.

  • Rob Copoolillo Dies in Crevasse Fall - Legendary IFMGA mountain guide and author Rob Coppolillo died in a crevasse fall while guiding the Icefall Traverse in Canada last week.

Elevating the Craft:

  • Fischer's Bro Boot reviewed - For those looking for the very niche ski boot that has a tech toe and walk mode Fisher introduced a new model to consider. With an extremely stiff flex, medium last, and stock zipfit liner this might just be your key to the FWT.

Sidetracked:

Thanks for reading. As we switch over into shoulder season we are switching to a biweekly cadence. But don’t worry we won’t let you miss the best things that happen in freeride skiing and ski mountaineering.
